The production is an expected to begin by third quarter of 2015 said by the company.
According to an industry – watchers, the first devices that would be rolled out of Chennai factory would be Smartphone’s and other devices for the Chinese phone maker ‘Xiaomi’. Invented has not spoken about the kinds of products it aims to produce in India.
Speaking about tech2, Manu Jain, Xiaomis’ India head said that the company don’t comment on the speculations. ‘We are talking to multiple a partners for an exploring manufacturing in India, and it would be an unfair to comment unless they have finalized anything’.
Company Chairman ‘Richard Lee’ has said that he expects consignments of ODM/OEM devices to reach up to 100 million units by 2015, which is an almost 33% jump from the 75 million units in 2014. Invented hopes facility in India would help to meet the demands in next couple of years.
Among all devices made by an Invented, the Smartphone consignments are expected to reach up to sixty million units as against to fifty five million units last year. PC products including the notebooks are expected to reach 24 to 25 million units in this year.
