Earlier during this month, HMD Global had confirmed that all of its existing Nokia Android smartphones will be receiving an Android 8.0 Oreo update, but the company, of course, did not share the release timeline for this update at that time. Now, of course, the company has announced that the Android 8.0 Oreo update will, undoubtedly, be making its way to the existing Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 smartphones before this year ends.
In an interview with GadgetGaul, Mark Trundle, HMD Global’s General Manager for Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia regions, confirmed that the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 smartphones will be getting their respective Android 8.0 Oreo update “before the end of the year”. This doesn’t only come as good news but should also impart confidence to the customers in the brand, as the company did of course promise to regularly update its new Android smartphone.

As one may recall, HMD Global has, no doubt, pointed out that the Nokia 3 was the cheapest out of the aforementioned handsets and will get upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo. If one were to consider the low price of the smartphone and also that Nokia has been, no doubt, regularly in pushing out of the security patches and updates. It would appear so that the brand would not be taking its comeback so lightly and would prefer strong strides in the competitive market.
One has to wait and see if this announcement of Nokia will boost up sales of the respective handsets in the coming months or not.
